part two:
I knocked on the door, but no one answered me, no movement inside, not even a sound. I decided to wait a bit, and if no one opened the door, I would open it myself……forcefully.
A noise came from inside, which was surprising, because I didn’t sense a presence in there. She opened the door, Naomi. She hadn’t changed a bit, she was the same way I remembered her – a tall woman, with light skin, dressed in a beautiful evening gown. She was glad to see me; we had been a part so long. She was shrieked of joy and rushed to me, hugged me and kissed me. She was the same and time hadn’t changed her. She told me to come in and we sat on the sofa for hours talking about the past years. She told me that she had been using a new spell to keep herself young. Ha Naomi was still a crafter – a person who makes spells, and she one of the few who know how to fully use the flow. Since her specialties were the mind tricks – telekinesis, telepathy, mind control and so on – he quickly knew what I was here for. But still we sat on the sofa talking about the past and thinking about the future. Later that night we got on with the important matters. She knew everything before I even said it, which was kind of annoying, but I could deal with it. I was here to learn more spells. Yes, I was one of the four legendary sorcerers – the most powerful ones in all of Kalmia, but the guy I was going to fight was even stronger. In the past he had defeated all of the legendary sorcerers, but I managed to escape. He wasn’t a normal human, no, he was a demon, once a human how had sold his soul to the devil and was now given immense power, and his goal – to take over the world. You’re probably asking yourself, why am I trying to stop him alone? Well, the answer is simple really – I just know I can.
I stayed with Naomi five weeks and I trained hard, learned new spells, far more powerful than the ones I knew. Once I was ready I went on my way, thanking Naomi, for everything she had done for me.
I traveled for months, through swamps, forests, fields; I got in many fights, which were for me a test of my skills. As I traveled the world, I learned more and more about the magic flow, that it comes from one tower, it is controlled by one man, the man that could give me all the power I sought, if I proved myself worthy of it. And that is how my journey stopped and I headed to the tower of the flow.
Once I got there I saw a small tower nothing out of the ordinary, but using my runic stare I saw its true form - a gigantic tower, its top was above the clouds. I entered it and a voice spoke to me, saying that if I was here for a purpose, I had to climb the stairs to the top, to prove myself worthy of an audience with the tower keeper. Jesus…. I hate walking. I summoned mana beneath my feet and started gliding up the stairs. I knew he was watching me, but walking was not an option. I quickly got to the top and the man, whose voice I had heard earlier was a small guy, not more than a meter forty – pathetic – as I branded him. He was no wizard, so I quickly got him against the wall and the shrimp was forced to give me the power of the flow – with it I was invincible.
As the little man chanted something, I felt the flow tightening itself around me and every time I extracted magic energy, it seemed to come back to me instantaneously. Now I could continue my journey back to the castle – the place, where my dearest and darkest memories were. I decided not to waste any time and summoned a cushion of air beneath my feet. I quickly rose high into the air and in just a few minutes I was in front of the castle. It now had big black cloud above it and in the center of the cloud was a swirling vortex of evil. I was about 5 meters from the door and just to play it safe I threw a rock at the front gate to see what would happen. When was about a meter from the gate it disintegrated. I knew something like that was going to happen. I threw a piece of metal, nothing happened, so I returned it to my hand and using a shape shifting spell, turned myself into metal and passed the invisible force field. Getting to the top flood of the castle was surprisingly easy – no guards or servants were there. I got to the room, which had once been my own, and which now belonged to the arch wizard. He was inside, apparently expecting me. We both knew what was going to happen next so I was ready and also alert.
He got up slowly and came to me. We stared at each other for some time then he rose his hand and tried to use petrifaction spell but, luckily I was ready with my mana shield summoned. I was next to cast a multiplication spell, and soon the room was full of my copies. Being smart the arch wizard used a black hole and destroyed the replications immediately and threw several knives at me. I was ready for them and started a whirlwind, spinning the knives into the whirl, catching them and throwing them back at him. The arch mage used a barrier spell to stop them and took out 6 metal disks and threw them at me, aiming at my torso. Seeing to possible way to avoid them I turned myself into water at they went straight through me. Regaining my form I ran straight at him summoning my unique one handed words – the sword of fire and ice and the sword of light and shadow. He saw me coming so he prepared himself, also drawing his sword. I anticipated that so I used my speed spell and before he could see me I was behind him. Just as I was about to strike he disappeared and appeared a few meters above. I jumped and pushed him, but he didn’t fall. The battle was intense - we both delivered high and low blows with great power and determination, but finally, after hours of fighting I used my secret weapon – a crushing spell which, once cast on an object could use that object as a medium and break everything that the object touches. I cast the spell on my sword and broke his.
As I looked at him on the ground, even then, defeated he was no coward. He stood up, closed his eyes and asked me to finish him fast. An evil, but brave man. I ran towards him and pierced his heart. It took a minute for him to die.
Now I had taken back what was mine, but more importantly I had rid the world of a great evil. Let us hope that now I will see happiness on the faces of the people of this land, which I now rule.
