In the March issue, the scyth guy (don't know his name, but he has words tattoed all over one side of his body) uses his "memory attack" manouver (not what its actually called) wherein he puts his hand on the ground and words stream off it and envelope the victim and bring back a memory of sorts that leaves them vunerable.

He already used the attack once on one of the mercenary commanders (and cut him to ribbons with his scyth. Oh did I mention the manga is like 10 times more bloody than the show?), but was pushed back a little when Seras used her double full-auto Hallconnens.
However, she ran out of ammo, and scyth guy used his attack again. What comes next is Seras reliving a chidhood memory where some thugs kill her parents. In the memory she becomes horified, then angry and stabs one of the thugs with fork.
It then cuts back to real world, with scyth guy saying something to Seras. Then in one swift move cuts off her left arm. After that he stabs her through the back with the scyth. VERY BLOODY.
He then brings the scyth up to her face and proceeds to slit her eyes.
She manages to stumble to her feet and tell the gloating scyth guy to "Shut up you animal"
