Synopsis:
When a young woman, Charlotte Elbourne, is taken away by a vampire, Meier Link, her family is willing to pay anything to get her back. D, the product of a mortal mother and immortal vampire, is hired for the job but has some competition as the family in their desperation also hired a group of bounty hunters known as the Markuss Brothers. The job becomes increasingly difficult when the Barbaroi are later introduced. The Barbaroi, who are sworn to serve the \"people of the night,\" keep with their reputation, choosing to protect Meier and his carriage. As the story unravels an unlikely friendship is forged and an unshakable love revealed.
